On February 2, 2017 at approximately 5:28 a.m., Mr. Brent Randall B/M/44 and another victim were parked in their vehicle waiting for a business to open at 1820 W. Mockingbird Lane.  Mr. Randall was seated in the front passenger seat.  While they were waiting, a gray vehicle approached Mr. Randall and the other victim.  Recognizing that they were in some kind of danger, the driver with Mr. Randall began to drive off as a Latin male wearing a red bandanna over his face shot from the gray vehicle into the victims’ vehicle.  Mr. Randall was shot and died from the gunshot wound.

Shortly before this homicide, an aggravated robbery occurred at the Anchor Inn, located at 10230 Harry Hines.  The victim of the aggravated robbery was not injured and was able to give officers the same vehicle description and suspect description as the surviving victim in the homicide of Mr. Randall.

Video surveillance was obtained from the Anchor Inn showing the suspect vehicle and the robbery.  The victim at the Anchor Inn gave the following description of the suspects and the suspect vehicle:

A gray four door Chevrolet Malibu 2012 to 2014 model.  The first two digits of the license plate are believed to be “EH.”
