Sunshine Food Mart Suspects

UPDATE November 10, 2016 5:54 pm

On November 10, 2016, Dallas Homicide detectives obtained a capital murder warrant in connection with the shooting death of Mowaffaq Shararah, that occurred at 3943 S. Cockrell Hill Road, on September 23, 2016.  Through the course of their investigation, detectives received information linking Lonzell Hunter, a Black male, 22-years-old, to the shooting.  This information was also corroborated with other evidence.  Hunter is currently in jail on an unrelated capital murder warrant.  

 


On September 23, 2016, at about 3:15 a.m., two unknown suspects robbed the 7-11 located at 5910 Singleton Boulevard at gunpoint. The suspects entered the store armed with an assault rifle and a handgun. They pointed their weapons at the employee and demanded money from the register. The suspect stole cash, cigarettes and cigars. The suspects fled on foot.

At about 4:30 a.m., the same suspects robbed the Sunshine Food Mart at 3943 South Cockrell Hill Road. The suspects entered the store, pointed their weapons at the employee, and demanded cash from the register. During the offense, one of the suspects shot the employee causing his death. The suspects fled without stealing property.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help for any information that may lead to the identity of the suspects in these criminal offenses. If anyone has information they are asked to call Detective P. Trujillano at 214-471-7916.

On November 20, 2016 at approximately 8:33 p.m., the victim, Detavious Turner, a 21-year-old Black male, was shot in the rear parking lot of the Jacry Apartments located in the 3800 block of Bonnie View Road.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is encouraged to contact Homicide Detective White at 214-671-3690 or jacob.white@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us. Information Needed Regarding Homicide Investigation – 13402 Noel Road

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance for information regarding a homicide investigation.

On November 27, 2016, at approximately 5:19 p.m., the victim, Brian Sample, a White male 46-years-old, was found deceased inside a hotel room from signs of homicidal violence at 13402 Noel Road.  Detectives are attempting to identify  two White females who were last seen with the victim.  Detectives would also like to identify two Black males who are also pictured.

Homicide at 3410 Kellogg Ave

At the request of Dallas Police, Oak Farms Dairy is offering a $10,000 reward in connection with the murder of Maria Romero-Villegas. 

On September 7, 2016, she was found murdered in the 3400 block of Kellogg.  She was last seen leaving her place of employment—a taco restaurant inside an Exxon station at 3003 East Illinois–at approximately 10:00 p.m. the evening before. She had been driving a 1997 Dodge pickup with silver trim.

At this point in the investigation, police have exhausted all workable leads and are hopeful the $10,000 reward will bring forward information needed to bring justice in the case. 

Oak Farms will pay $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the persons responsible for this offense.  Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas Police Detective Andrea Isom at 214-671-3701. This reward offer will remain in force for six months.

The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in the murder investigation of victim Maria Romero-Villegas.  On September 7, 2016, at approximately 7:21 a.m., victim Romero-Villegas was found deceased at 3410 Kellogg Avenue Dallas, Texas.  The investigation determined that victim died from homicidal violence.  The victim was last seen leaving the Exxon gas station at 3003 E. Illinois Ave. on September 6, 2016, at approximately 10:00 p.m. driving a 1997 Dodge Pickup with Silver trim.  At this time, there is limited suspect information in regards to this offense.

 Homicide detectives are seeking information as to victim Romero-Villegas whereabouts between September 6, 2016, and September 7, 2016.

On Monday, December 5, 2016 at about 3:10 a.m., Tamaika White was shot and killed while she was the passenger inside a vehicle traveling south bound at the 1300 block of South Marsalis Ave., Dallas, TX. Dallas Police Seeking Person of Interest in Homicide

On December 11, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at the Regency Hotel located at 11350 LBJ Freeway.  The victim, Stephen Egana, a 21-year-old Black male, was shot by an unknown suspect.   The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Information Needed in the Homicide Investigation of Tamaika White

On December 5, 2016, Tamaika White, the victim, met the unknown Latin male suspect at the City Inn Motel located at 223 S. Ewing Avenue just before 3:00 a.m.  The victim walked to the courtyard of the motel where she met the suspect. They walked to the witness’ vehicle then Tamaika and the suspect walked to and entered the suspect’s vehicle. After a few minutes, the victim exited the suspect’s vehicle and walked back to the witness’ vehicle. She got in and the witness’ vehicle reversed and left the parking lot of the motel. The suspect followed them and caught up to their vehicle in the 1300 block of South Marsalis where the suspect shot at the vehicle killing Ms. White.

The vehicle in the surveillance video is believed to be a possible early model Toyota Matrix, grey in color with factory wheels and a sun roof. The Dallas Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the individual and the vehicle in the surveillance video. This case is documented on case number 289430-2016.

Endangered Person now Homicide: Marisol Espinosa

Update – December 29, 2016 @ 2:28 PM:

The Dallas Police Department announces that a Murder warrant has been issued for Faustino Valdez in connection with the death of Marisol Espinosa.

If anyone has information concerning this case or the suspect, they should immediately call 911 or Homicide Detective C. Shelton, at 214-283-4900. This investigation is still active and ongoing. This is the only information being released at this time.

UPDATE – March 8, 2016 @ 6:00 PM:

The Dallas County Medical Examiner has identified the remains found at 2900 Dowdy Ferry Road on Sunday, March 6th as belonging to Marisol Espinosa.

In light of the identification made, the Dallas Police Department has reclassified the investigation into Marisol Espinosa’s disappearance as a homicide investigation.  We still await the determination as to a cause and manner of death from the Medical Examiner.  We will release additional information as it becomes available and appropriate to do so.

Below is a timeline of the investigation and its progression:

December 12, 2015 – Espinosa, mother, and kids moved in with ex-boyfriend after their house caught fire 

December 29, 2015 – Youth Ops began investigation as Want to Locate

December 29, 2015 – January 1, 2016 – Interviewed family/friends

January 1, 2016 – Increased to Critical Missing/Endangered Person when vehicle was found 

January 1, 2016 – Present –

  • Crimes Against Persons Division was added to the investigation to interview possible witnesses, gather evidence etc.
  • DPD personnel continued searching various areas with assistance from the Helicopter Unit, K-9, Mounted, and Patrol
  • Youth and Patrol personnel, along with Mark 9 Search & Rescue, and the Mounted Unit searched the creek/storm drain on foot and horseback near the Umphress Recreational Center on Umphress Road., due to close proximity to last seen location and where vehicle was recovered.
  • Helicopter Unit checked area and on-foot personnel searched areas where the helicopter personnel were unable to see.
  • Southeast Patrol personnel and Deployment have been put on Special Assignment to assist. Officer are currently checking vacant lots, verifying locations, etc.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating endangered missing person, Ms. Marisol Espinosa. Ms. Espinosa was last seen on December 29, 2015 at about 8:00 a.m. leaving her residence in the 7700 block of Aurora Street. On January 1, 2016, Ms. Espinosa’s vehicle was found abandoned behind the apartment complex, Las Lomas Apartments at 6161 Trail Glen Drive. Ms. Espinosa is described as a 34 year old Latin female and is 5’5 and weighs 125 pounds.

Homicide Suspect Arrested

On December 11, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at the Regency Hotel located at 11350 LBJ Freeway. The victim, Stephen Egana, a 21-year-old Black male, was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

On January 3, 2017, Cicero Leonard Louisjean was arrested by the METRO Unit at the Budget Suites at 9519 Forest Lane. He was brought to the Homicide Unit where he was interviewed. He was placed in jail for the Murder of Stephen Egana on a $250,000.00 bond. This offense was reported on case number  294451-2016.

On June 21, 2016, victim Jairo Gonzalez, a Latin 52-years-old, was shot and killed at 14100 Montfort Road. The investigation has revealed that suspects Jose Armando Nunez-Zamora, a Latin male 28-years-old and Jose Reynaldo Zamora-Banegas, a Latin male 28-years-old were responsible for the victims death. Capital Murder warrants have been obtained for their arrests. Capital Murder at Scyene Rd and St. Augustine Drive

On January 4, 2017, at approximately 9:52 p.m., the victim, Grady Dunn Jr., a 28-year-old Black male, and a Black male passenger, were involved in a crash at Scyene Road and N. St. Augustine Drive. As a result of the initial crash investigation, it was determined the victim had been involved in a minor accident with the suspect at Brewster Street and N. St. Augustine Drive. When the victim exited his vehicle to exchange information with the suspect, the suspect pulled a gun on the victim and attempted to rob him. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot the victim. The victim fled in his vehicle and as a result of his injuries he crashed his vehicle at Scyene Road and N. St. Augustine Drive. He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The passenger was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives discovered that property was taken from inside the apartment.
