Detectives Need Information in Capital Murder Investigation

On May 27, 2017, at approximately 3:37 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 4100 block of Easter Avenue.  The victim, Narobia Davis, a 24-year-old Black male, was shot and killed when an unknown suspect demanded the victim’s property at gunpoint.  Anyone with information regarding this capital murder is encouraged to contact Detective Montenegro at (214) 671-3624 or e.montenegro@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us. One year ago, on May 26, 2016, at approximately 12:01 a.m., Dallas Police responded to the shooting death of victim Clarence Davis, a 57-year-old Black male, at 306 Palm Oaks Drive.  This case remains unsolved.  The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information related to this case. Murder on Ruder Street

Homicide Arrest Made – Smalley

On May 10, 2017, Dallas homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jeryll Smalley B/M/39 for the murder of victim Christopher Carraway, B /M/36.  The murder occurred at 9601 Plano Road on May 5, 2017. 

Smalley was arrested in Sulpher Springs, Texas.  On June 2, 2017, Smalley was interviewed by homicide detectives and he admitted to the offense.  Smalley was transported to Lew Sterrett Jail with a bond of $250,000.00.  This murder was documented on case number 100940-2017.

On May 5, 2017, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Dallas Police responded to 9601 Plano Road regarding an unconscious  Black male.   Upon arrival, they found 36 year old Carraway, Christopher, suffering from multiple injuries.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Homicide on N. Henderson Avenue

On June 3, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call for police at 1600 N. Henderson Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a White male lying in the street deceased from a gunshot wound. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending Next of Kin Notification. Homicide on Willoughby – Suspect Gay Sought

On June 3, 2017, at approximately 12:01 a.m., Dallas police responded to an injured person call at Charlton Methodist Hospital at 3500 W. Wheatland Road. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, Nicholas Greene, 23 year-old Black male, had been involved in a disturbance and shot at 8502 Willoughby Boulevard.  Victim Greene was transported to the hospital by a witness where he later died from his injuries. Detectives learned that Keyone Gay, 37 year old Black male, was responsible for the shooting of victim Greene. An arrest warrant has been issued for Keyone Gay.  The murder offense was made on case number 124855-2017.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Jay Nichols,  a 28-year-old White male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. CAPITAL MURDER INFORMATION WANTED – 3330 Webb Chapel Extension

On July 4, 2017, at approximately 12:50 a.m., two unknown Latin males shot and killed the victim during the commission of a robbery at 3330 Webb Chapel Ext.  The two unknown Latin males took the victim’s property and his red 2008 Chevrolet Silverado with Texas license plate GJD-4577. Suspect Arrested for Murder

Update:

On July 9, 2017, Suspect Ruvalcaba was involved in a vehicular pursuit of the victim. Both vehicles were involved in a crash at Elam Road and C.F. Hawn service road. Suspect Ruvalcaba took out a gun and shot the victim. Suspect Ruvalcaba was arrested, but his vehicle has not been recovered.

Original Post:

On July 9, 2017, at approximately 3:11 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at CF Hawn Service Road and Elam Road.  Upon officers arrival, they found the victim Christopher Geddes, a 31-year-old Black male, shot laying on the curb.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.  Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Julio Ruvalcaba, a 36-year-old Latin male, was responsible for victim’s death.  On July 10, 2017, Ruvalcaba was arrested and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters to be interviewed.  He was issued his Miranda warning and invoked his right to remain silent.  He was placed in jail for murder with a $200,000.00 bond.

 


Endangered Person Now Homicide: Marisol Espinosa

Update – July 13, 2017:

On July 12, 2017, Faustino Lara Valdez was taken into custody in Francisco Madero, Durango, Mexico by Mexican authorities. These officials, working in close coordination with the FBI legal attaché office at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, took Valdez into custody without incident.

Valdez is wanted for the death of his ex-girlfriend Marisol Espinosa. He will be transferred from his FBI escort to members of the Dallas Police Department Homicide Unit.

After debriefing at police headquarters, Valdez will then be placed in the Dallas County Jail charged with Ms. Espinosa’s murder.  

Update – December 29, 2016 @ 2:28 PM:

The Dallas Police Department announces that a Murder warrant has been issued for Faustino Valdez in connection with the death of Marisol Espinosa.

If anyone has information concerning this case or the suspect, they should immediately call 911 or Homicide Detective C. Shelton, at 214-283-4900. This investigation is still active and ongoing. This is the only information being released at this time.

Update – March 8, 2016 @ 6:00 PM:

The Dallas County Medical Examiner has identified the remains found at 2900 Dowdy Ferry Road on Sunday, March 6th as belonging to Marisol Espinosa.

In light of the identification made, the Dallas Police Department has reclassified the investigation into Marisol Espinosa’s disappearance as a homicide investigation.  We still await the determination as to a cause and manner of death from the Medical Examiner.  We will release additional information as it becomes available and appropriate to do so.

Below is a timeline of the investigation and its progression:

December 12, 2015 – Espinosa, mother, and kids moved in with ex-boyfriend after their house caught fire 

December 29, 2015 – Youth Ops began investigation as Want to Locate

December 29, 2015 – January 1, 2016 – Interviewed family/friends

January 1, 2016 – Increased to Critical Missing/Endangered Person when vehicle was found 

January 1, 2016 – Present –

  • Crimes Against Persons Division was added to the investigation to interview possible witnesses, gather evidence etc.
  • DPD personnel continued searching various areas with assistance from the Helicopter Unit, K-9, Mounted, and Patrol
  • Youth and Patrol personnel, along with Mark 9 Search & Rescue, and the Mounted Unit searched the creek/storm drain on foot and horseback near the Umphress Recreational Center on Umphress Road., due to close proximity to last seen location and where vehicle was recovered.
  • Helicopter Unit checked area and on-foot personnel searched areas where the helicopter personnel were unable to see.
  • Southeast Patrol personnel and Deployment have been put on Special Assignment to assist. Officer are currently checking vacant lots, verifying locations, etc.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating endangered missing person, Ms. Marisol Espinosa. Ms. Espinosa was last seen on December 29, 2015 at about 8:00 a.m. leaving her residence in the 7700 block of Aurora Street. On January 1, 2016, Ms. Espinosa’s vehicle was found abandoned behind the apartment complex, Las Lomas Apartments at 6161 Trail Glen Drive. Ms. Espinosa is described as a 34 year old Latin female and is 5’5 and weighs 125 pounds.

Suspect Wanted for Murder on Roberts Avenue

On July 15, 2017, at approximately 4:21 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 35oo block of Roberts Avenue. Upon officers arrival, they found the victim, Wyshawn Gaddy a 41-year-old Black male, deceased from a gunshot wound. Through the course of investigation, it was determined that Jerry Raymond Riedel a 64-year-old White male, was responsible for the victim’s death. An arrest warrant has been issued for Jerry Raymond Riedel. This offense is documented on case number 160944-2017.

Homicide On McCree

On July 23, 2017, at approximately 1:50 a.m., the victim, Carlos Ayala, a 31 year old latin male, was inside the apartments at 11333 Amanda Lane.  The victim was in his vehicle when he was approached by 2  suspects.  The suspects shot the victim and fled the location.  The victim exited the apartment complex in his vehicle and wrecked several blocks south in the intersection of McCree and Pandora.  The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

Suspect Arrested for Murder on Kleberg Road

On August 3, 2017, Dallas Police responded to a call regarding an individual hearing gunshots from 14830 Kleberg Road.  Officers arrived and found evidence that a crime had been committed.  After speaking with several witnesses, it was determined that the victim, Raymond Stewart, a 50-year-old White male, died from homicidal violence.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined that LaDaryl Fisher, a 32-year-old Black male, was responsible for Stewart’s death.  Fisher was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak with detectives.  Fisher was arrested and placed in jail for murder.  His bond has been set at  $500,000.00

Homicide on Ledbetter

Update: August 22, 2017 @ 3:30 p.m.:

A suspect has been identified in this Capital Murder.  Jayden Blanton B/M/17 was identified and a Capital Murder warrant was issued today.  Blanton is the suspect seen in the surveillance video below. If anyone has information on his location, please call Detective Chaney 214-671-3650 or 9-1-1.  Suspect Blanton should be considered armed and dangerous. 

Update: August 21, 2017 @ 9:10 p.m.:

The victim in this homicide has been identified as Jorge Alberto Torres  L/M/37.

Update: August 21, 2017 @ 4:30 p.m.

The suspect in this homicide were observed through video surveillance video camera approaching the victim on foot, physically pushing him, and then shooting him. There were three suspects that participated in this robbery. They were all seen on video fleeing the scene on foot possibly running to an apartment complex not far from the crime scene.

The suspects remain at large. The suspect depicted in the video is believed to have participated in this heinous crime. The suspect is wearing a tee shirt with a unique design on the front.

On August 20, 2017, at approximately 10:46 p. m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 2400 W. Ledbetter Drive. Upon officers arrival they discovered 35- year -old Latin male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed at this time. This offense is documented on case number 190785-2017.
